Game Review

Scars Above is a challenging science-fiction third-person action adventure for PlayStation 4, set on a hostile alien world filled with strange technology and dangerous lifeforms. As a member of the SCAR expedition, Kate Ward must investigate the planet and find a way to survive far from Earth.

Gameplay and features: Explore an interconnected wilderness, study alien creatures, and combine weapons, gadgets, and environmental effects to overcome encounters. Different enemies respond to different tactics, rewarding observation and preparation rather than a single repeated approach. Scanning the environment and exploiting elemental interactions are central to solving combat and exploration challenges.

Story and world: The expedition uncovers traces of an advanced alien presence and a mystery that reaches beyond the immediate struggle for survival. Desolate landscapes, abandoned structures, and scientific investigation shape an atmospheric journey for players who enjoy third-person shooting, exploration, crafting, and science-fiction storytelling on PlayStation 4.
