The forest

The Forest is an open-world survival horror game in which a passenger-plane crash leaves you stranded in a mysterious forest. Build shelter, explore the wilderness and underground caves, and defend yourself against a society of hostile mutant enemies while searching for answers.

Gameplay and features: Gather resources, chop trees, craft tools, grow food, and construct anything from a small shelter to a fortified base. Day and night survival: explore and build during the day, then secure your perimeter as danger increases after dark. Flexible approach: use stealth to avoid enemies or fight with improvised weapons, set traps, and adapt your defenses to the environment.

Story and world: Search a living forest, a network of caves, and hidden underground lakes while uncovering clues about the island's inhabitants and the disaster that brought you there. The open-ended structure supports solitary survival as well as cooperative play, letting players decide how much to explore, build, investigate, or confront the threats around them.
