Battlefield Hardline is a first-person shooter developed by Visceral Games and published by Electronic Arts for PlayStation 3. Its single-player campaign follows police detective Nick Mendoza through a crime drama inspired by serialized television, moving between investigations, pursuits, and confrontations.

The campaign mixes shooting with stealth, arrests, evidence collection, and vehicle pursuits, while the multiplayer suite adapts Battlefield’s classes, vehicles, and destruction to police-versus-criminal scenarios. Modes such as Heist and Hotwire give teams distinct objectives beyond simple elimination.

The PS3 release supports a one-player campaign and online multiplayer matches through a first-person viewpoint. Its crime-focused setting, episodic structure, tactical tools, and combined-arms multiplayer distinguish it from the series’ traditional military entries.

The most important factor is the system firmware version. Versions 4.90 and below are the easiest and most common.
