Three-dimensional action in a maze-like castle. Players explore five interconnected areas, fight skeletons, demons, and bosses with quick and strong whip attacks, and use sub-weapons, relics, and magic powers. The single-player adventure combines combat, exploration, item collection, light platforming, and backtracking, presented through atmospheric camera positions, detailed textures, and moody lighting.
PS2-to-PS3 catalogue entry. The original PS2 release was developed and published by Konami. Its third-person action design, gothic castle setting, whip-based combat, character progression, cinematic camera work, and Castlevania origin story define this console chapter.
