Dark Souls

Dark Souls is an action role-playing game developed by From Software and published by Namco Bandai Games for PlayStation 3. In the dark-fantasy world of Lordran, an undead warrior explores a vast, interconnected land filled with ruined kingdoms, hostile creatures, traps, and powerful demons and dragons.

The adventure emphasizes deliberate third-person combat, dungeon exploration, and flexible character development through weapons, armor, magic, miracles, and different strategies for every encounter. Bonfires act as recovery and progression checkpoints, but resting restores enemies, making route planning and learning from death central to survival.

Dark Souls is primarily a single-player journey with online interactions that let players leave messages, summon allies for cooperative boss fights, or invade other worlds for player-versus-player battles; the PS3 data supports one local player and up to four online players.
