The third chapter of the original .hack saga. .hack//Outbreak Part 3 continues Kite’s investigation inside the fictional online game The World. As strange data anomalies and dangerous enemies spread through the network, Kite and his companions pursue answers about the system, the mysterious Aura, and the events affecting players beyond the game.

A simulated online RPG with persistent progression. Players explore fields and dungeons, battle monsters in real time, collect equipment, and develop a party of allies while moving through a story-driven campaign. Character data, items, levels, and skills can be transferred between the numbered volumes, while the in-game news, forums, and mail systems deepen the illusion of an online community without requiring an Internet connection.
