The Godfather: The Dons Edition is an action-adventure game for PlayStation 3 inspired by Mario Puzos novel and Francis Ford Coppolas classic film. Players enter the world of the Corleone family and build a reputation in a living version of New York.

A rise through the underworld takes the player from a minor street criminal toward greater power through missions involving mob hits, bank heists, extortion, and contract work. The story combines an original player-created character with the atmosphere of The Godfather universe.

The Dons Edition is the PlayStation 3 version developed by EA Redwood Shores and published by Electronic Arts. It expands the experience with additional missions and new transportation hubs, including the Shipyard and Railyard areas.

The most important factor is the system firmware version. Versions 4.90 and below are the easiest and most common.
