Twisted Metal

Twisted Metal is a vehicular combat game built around a dangerous contest of armed drivers and distinctive machines. The PlayStation 3 entry presents the original arena of highways, suburbs and battle zones where every vehicle is both transport and weapon.

Gameplay and features: Choose among 12 deadly machines and use speed, weapons and the terrain to outmaneuver rival drivers across varied battlefields. Two-player competition adds a direct contest of timing and positioning, while each vehicle encourages a different approach to attack and defense. The best driver knows when to strike, escape and turn the arena to an advantage.

Presentation and identity: The game builds its identity from explosive vehicle battles, bold machines and a darkly playful tournament atmosphere. Developed by SingleTrac and published in North America by SCEA, it established the foundation for the series’ signature vehicle-combat format.
