Frequently Asked Questions
1. What is the difference between PKG and FPKG?
PKG is the official install format. FPKG is a modified version that allows running unofficial content on a jailbroken console.
2. What is the most important factor for a PS4 jailbreak?
The most important factor is the system firmware version. Versions 11.00 and below are easiest. Newer versions may require methods like BD-JB.
3. Is the PS4 jailbreak permanent like PS3 CFW?
No, it is temporary. A full power-off clears the exploit; you must re-run it after each cold boot.
4. What is GoldHEN?
GoldHEN is a homebrew enabler that unlocks additional permissions and allows running unofficial apps and tools.
5. Can I play online after jailbreaking?
Technically yes, but with extreme caution. Connecting to PSN risks a ban.
6. What is the main benefit of jailbreaking?
The ability to install unofficial software (homebrew) including emulators and system tools.
