Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is the difference between PKG and FPKG game formats?

PKG is the official package format for installing content on PS5. FPKG is a modified PKG that allows installing and running unofficial content on a jailbroken console.

2. What is the most important factor for a PS5 jailbreak?

The most important factor is the system firmware version. Versions 11.00 and below are the easiest and most common, while newer versions may require methods like BD-JB via Blu-ray.

3. Is the PS5 jailbreak permanent like the PS3's CFW?

No, it is temporary. A full power-off clears the exploit, so you must re-run it (via browser, USB, or Blu-ray) after each cold boot.

4. What is GoldHEN in the context of PS5 modding?

GoldHEN is a homebrew enabler that runs after the exploit, enabling additional permissions and allowing unofficial apps and tools.

5. Can I play online multiplayer games after jailbreaking?

Technically yes, but with extreme caution. Connecting to PSN can lead to bans. There are private servers and alternative projects, but they are not official PSN.
