God of War Ascension

God of War: Ascension is a third-person action adventure developed by Santa Monica Studio and published by Sony Computer Entertainment for PlayStation 3. Its campaign follows Kratos before the original trilogy as he breaks free from the Furies and confronts the consequences of his betrayal.

Players chain brutal melee attacks, grabs, counters, weapons, and environmental interactions while solving light traversal puzzles and facing mythological enemies and bosses. Ascension also introduces competitive online multiplayer with god allegiances, team objectives, and a cooperative Trial of the Gods mode.

The PS3 release supports a single-player campaign and online multiplayer for up to eight players, with cooperative trials offering a smaller team challenge. Its behind-the-character camera, responsive combat, cinematic scale, and Greek-mythology setting extend the series’ signature action formula.
