Project Zero
Project Zero, also known as Fatal Frame, is a survival horror game developed by Tecmo for PlayStation 2. It is the first entry in the Fatal Frame series, and this record represents the original PS2 game converted to PS3, not a separate modern PS3 release. The story follows Miku Hinasaki as she searches for her brother in the haunted Himuro Mansion.
Exploration and supernatural investigation. Miku explores a dark mansion, solves environmental puzzles, follows documents and cassette recordings, and uses a flashlight to navigate its rooms. The game uses a semi-fixed camera while exploring, with the viewpoint changing according to the character’s position.
The Camera Obscura is the central defensive tool. Hostile ghosts can be fought only through the mystical camera, which switches combat to a first-person view and allows film shots to damage spirits. Project Zero is cataloged here as a single-player PS2-to-PS3 survival-horror conversion. Developer: Tecmo.
