Resident Evil Directors Cut
Resident Evil: Director’s Cut is an enhanced version of Capcom’s 1996 survival-horror game for the original PlayStation. This record represents the PlayStation edition converted to PS3, not a native modern PS3 release. It follows Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine, members of S.T.A.R.S., as they investigate a mansion filled with zombies and other biological threats.
The campaign combines exploration, item management, puzzle solving, and combat while the player searches the mansion for clues and a way to escape. Director’s Cut includes the original game, an Arranged version that changes vital-item locations, enemy placement, and camera angles, plus Beginner and Training-style assistance and restored auto-aim.
The PlayStation game uses a third-person presentation with fixed camera angles over pre-rendered backgrounds and deliberate tank controls. Limited ammunition, healing items, safe rooms, save typewriters, and item boxes make resource management part of the survival-horror loop. Catalog status: PlayStation-to-PS3 conversion; developer and publisher: Capcom; mode: single-player.
