Game Review

Tomb Raider Greatest Hits is the budget re-release of Core Design and Eidos Interactive’s 1996 action-adventure game for PlayStation. This record represents the original PlayStation game converted to PS3, not a native modern PS3 release. It follows archaeologist-adventurer Lara Croft as she searches ancient ruins for the Scion of Atlantis.

Lara explores tombs and archaeological locations across Peru, Greece, Egypt, and Atlantis. Progress requires navigating grid-based 3D environments, jumping, swimming, collecting keys and artifacts, fighting animals and creatures, and solving environmental puzzles. The campaign combines platforming, exploration, combat, and cinematic adventure.

The PlayStation version uses a third-person presentation with Lara always visible and a camera that follows or changes at key moments. The Greatest Hits label identifies a later PlayStation re-release of the same game, and a verified video shows the PS1 version. Catalog status: PlayStation-to-PS3 conversion; developer: Core Design; publisher: Eidos Interactive.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is the difference between PKG and FPKG?

PKG is the official package format for installing content on PS3. FPKG is a modified version that allows installing and running unofficial content on a jailbroken console.

2. What is the most important factor for a PS3 jailbreak?

The most important factor is the system firmware version. Versions 4.90 and below are the easiest and most common.

3. Is the PS3 jailbreak permanent like CFW?

Yes, the PS3 jailbreak with CFW is permanent on most consoles (Fat and Slim). Super Slim consoles rely on HEN which is temporary.

4. What is HEN in the context of PS3 modding?

HEN is a homebrew enabler that runs after the exploit, enabling additional permissions and allowing unofficial apps and tools on Super Slim consoles.

5. Can I play online multiplayer games after jailbreaking?

Technically yes, but with extreme caution. Connecting to PSN can lead to bans. There are private servers and alternative projects, but they are not official PSN.
